Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP)

Multi-energy project in Basra combining associated-gas recovery and processing at Ratawi (up to 600 million cubic feet per day in two phases), full development of the Ratawi field to 210,000 b/d, a Common Seawater Supply Project treating 5 million barrels of water per day for oilfield injection, and a 1 GWac (1.25 GWp) solar plant. As of September 2026 the first 250 MW solar unit is supplying the grid, while Ratawi Phase 1 start-up has been delayed by customs clearance of equipment. The consortium agreed in April 2023 is TotalEnergies 45%, Basrah Oil Company 30% and QatarEnergy 25% (TotalEnergies release, 5 Apr 2023); current interests are not confirmed.
